On February 22, 2022, the head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, called on the supporters of his organization "not to show violence" against the property and believers of the UOC, the official website of the Dumenkovites reports.

In his address to Ukrainians and "to all fellow citizens," Dumenko stated that "Ukraine is proud of interfaith and interethnic peace."

According to him, “no matter how much the Kremlin has been trying to foment confrontation over the years, it has not been able to succeed.” He promised that "together we will prevent the disturbance of this inner peace even now."

On behalf of the OCU, Dumenko urged to "prevent violence against the property of communities" or supporters of the UOC.

“If you are witnesses of specific illegal actions in the interests of the aggressor, in particular those under the guise of religious slogans, you should act according to the law, contact law enforcement officers, and not succumb to provocations. The enemy is only looking for a pretext to justify his aggression, so our common task is to destroy his plans,” wrote the head of the OCU.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that in recent years, 122 temples were forcibly and with many offenses taken away from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and 220 parishes were illegally re-registered in favor of the OCU.
