On February 10, 2022, Metropolitan Gregory of Cameroon of the Orthodox Church of Alexandria, said that he was surprised at the position of the Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church on the “Ukrainian issue”, reports the Greek publication Dogma.

Commenting on the statement of Archbishop Anastasios that the Orthodox Church split due to the “autocephaly” of the OCU, Metropolitan Gregory assured that “there is no schism.”

“I am surprised that the Primate of the Church of Albania writes off all the problems to Ukrainian ones (that is, he believes that the schism in Orthodoxy arose because of the OCU – Ed.), without unequivocally condemning Russia’s step,” Patriarch Theodore’s representative noted with bewilderment.

Met. Gregory considers that Mr. Anastasios with the view he has expressed equates the Patriarchate of Alexandria and his long course with the Patriarchate of Moscow, "As if he does not want to upset a spoiled child by pointing out his mistake … It is two meters and two weights ".

As reported, the hierarch of Alexandria said how the ROC will be deprived of autocephaly.
