RCC Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki was excluded from the list of participants in the forum of bishops and laity "Synodal Way", which will be held in early February in Frankfurt, reports Polonia Christiana.
At the meeting of the "Synodal Way", they plan to discuss the abolition of the mandatory celibacy of priests, the new roles of women in the Catholic Church, the revision of the Catholic teaching on morality in the spirit of unlimited tolerance and gender theory. The issues of democratization of decision-making in the RCC and church administration are considered separately.
“Cardinal Woelki sharply criticized these reforms. De facto, he was suspended from participation in the congress by decision of the Pope, who imposed a temporary vow of silence on the archbishop until the beginning of Lent,” reports the resource.
As reported, German Catholics want to strengthen the role of the laity in the life of the church and will consider the issue of the “necessity” of the sacramental priesthood.
