Patriarch Bartholomew announces a visit of Serbian Church Primate to Phanar

On January 16, 2022, Patriarch Bartholomew announced a visit of the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Porfirije, to Phanar, reports the official website of the Constantinople Patriarchate.

During a meeting with Speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament Aleksa Bečić, Patriarch Bartholomew informed his guest that "the peaceful visit of the new Serbian Patriarch Porfirije is expected by Phanar with joy and in accordance with general Orthodox customs."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that, according to Patriarch Porfirije, the Serbian Orthodox Church will not change its position on the OCU.

In addition, Patriarch Porfirije stated that he was struck by the ease with which the Patriarchate of Constantinople violated the canons by creating the OCU.
