His Beatitude leads festive Liturgy at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

On January 7, 2022, the Feast of Nativity of Christ, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of Saints Antony and Theodosius at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, reports news.church.ua.

The Primate of the UOC was concelebrated by the abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl, the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Archbishop Panteleimon of Bucha, Bishop Victor of Baryshevka, Bishop Sylvester of Bilogorodka Bishop Laurus of Irpen, Bishop Mark of Borodianka and the clergy of the monastery.

The liturgical hymns were sung by choirs led by Archimandrite Roman (Podlubniak) and Archimandrite Herontius (Borisevich).

During the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude prayed for an end to the coronavirus epidemic.

At the end of the Liturgy, the clergy performed the rite of glorification in front of the icon of the feast of the Nativity of Christ.

As previously reported, Metropolitan Onuphry led the service on Christmas Eve.
