On 4 November 2024, in the Refectory Church of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the leader of the radical nationalist group “Brotherhood”, Dmytro Korchynsky, held a "prayer meeting", during which the group's fighters were awarded medals from the Ministry of Defense for their participation in recent battles. Korchynsky himself reporrted this on his Facebook page.
"A prayer meeting of the Brotherhood in the Lavra, during which our fighters were awarded medals from the Ministry of Defense for their participation in the recent battles," Korchynsky wrote.
Earlier, Dmytro Korchynsky had publicly called for the destruction of temples of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. As reported by the UOJ, Korchynsky recommended entering UOC churches and, if Moscow books or icons were found there, they should be burnt, "preferably together with the churches". He argued that such actions were justified, referring to UOC churches as "chicken coops".
