The court hearing on the eviction of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monks, which was to be held on 14 October 2024, postponed because of the illness of the judge, reports the Lavra’s lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman.

According to him, Judge Maidanevych A.G. is on medical leave, so an automatic reassignment of the case will take place to appoint a new panel of judges. The date and time of the next hearing will be announced later.

Earlier, this hearing was scheduled to address the issue of recusing the judge due to his biased attitude toward representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
