A UOC priest of the Constantinople Patriarchate in the USA delivered a prayer at the opening of a rally for U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, October 5. A video of the event was posted on the YouTube channel 'Exposing Powerful Lies'.

This was the former president's second rally in this town of 13,000 people, following an assassination attempt he survived there in July.

The opening prayer was delivered by Fr. John Charest, rector of the UOC parish of Saints Peter and Paul in Carnegie, Pennsylvania.

The priest began by reciting the "Heavenly King" prayer, then offered his prayer, which included petitions for the repose of the soul of the person killed in the July assassination attempt, protection for President Trump and all of America, and assistance for those affected by Hurricane Helen.

As reported by the UOJ, Phanariots in the U.S. expressed their support for Trump in the election.
