On September 13, the National Reserve "St. Sophia of Kyiv" temporarily closed to visitors due to the start of restoration work, reports Kyiv.ua.

It is planned that after the restoration, "St. Sophia of Kyiv" will offer visitors new tour routes and viewing platforms. The Reserve also intends to create interactive zones that will allow for a deeper understanding of the cathedral's history. Additionally, the updated infrastructure will be adapted for the convenience of people with disabilities.

The exact date of the restoration completion is currently unknown, and the work may take several months.

As earlier reported, the cathedral completed a comprehensive restoration of its frescoes and mosaics in 2018.
