The vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis, Bishop Victor (Kotsaba) of Baryshevka, said that representatives of all 53 eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church arrive at the Great Cross Procession in Kyiv.

“People are already coming to the Vladimir Hill from different regions of our country,” the hierarch said live on the “Nash” TV channel on Tuesday, July 27. “Of all the eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – we have 53 of them – there will be representatives who will travel by different means of transport to take part in the cross procession.”

Bishop Victor reminds us that today at 13:00 on the Vladimir Hill, a prayer service will be held with the participation of numerous episcopate and thousands of believers, led by the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, and "immediately after that we will all go together to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra".

He also added that the Great Cross Procession of the UOC, timed to the celebration of the Baptism of Rus’, has already become traditional, and "only last year was an exception due to the pandemic".

Earlier Bishop Victor noted that by participating in the celebrations for the Baptism of Rus, the believers of the UOC have the opportunity to reaffirm the strength of their faith and testify to their unity.
