The head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience, Viktor Yelensky, stated that one of the key steps in restoring a stable situation on the peninsula will be the restoration of religious freedom and the reintroduction of Ukrainian legislation on freedom of religion. He mentioned this during a meeting with the President’s Representative in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, religious experts, and DESS officials, as reported by the press service of the agency.

The Permanent Representative of the President in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Tamila Tasheva, presented the Economic Recovery Strategy and the Cognitive De-Occupation Strategy for Crimea. She emphasized the important role of religious institutions in the recovery and reintegration of the peninsula, particularly in the context of cognitive de-occupation, which involves intensive socio-psychological work with various population groups.

As the UOJ reported, the Ukrainian authorities will create a Council of Church Associations focused on Crimea.
