On July 28, the day when Ukrainian Orthodox Christians celebrate the Day of the Baptism of Rus, representatives of the OCU attempted to begin the process of seizing the ancient Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the UOC in the village of Vornychany in Bukovyna, reported the Dozor_kozak1 Telegram channel.

According to journalists, several activists organized a territorial community meeting where they wanted to "transfer" the Orthodox parish to the OCU.

It is noted that the raid was overseen by the "notorious OCU chaplain" Roman Hryshchuk.

"But everything did not go as planned for the organizers. The absolute majority of the villagers are UOC parishioners. Most voted against transferring the shrine to the OCU, and the raiders of Epifaniy structure fell on their face once again. Glory to God for everything! Wonderful news on the day of the celebration!" the message states.

As the UOJ reported, the media showed how the UOC celebrated the Day of the Baptism of Rus.
