UOC Chancellor speaks about miraculous icons at cross procession on July 27

The Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, said which relics will be brought to the festive services on the Vladimir Hill in Kyiv on July 27 on the occasion of the 1033rd anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’, after which a large procession will take place to the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, reports the UOC Information Centre on its Facebook page.

“The arrival of the Pochaiv Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos for the celebration in Kyiv is preliminarily planned – this is the shrine of Pochaiv, the Svyatogorsk Icon of the Theotokos is the shrine of the East, the icons of the Zimnenskaya and the Kasperovskaya Mother of God is the shrine of the South,” said Metropolitan Anthony. “There will also be an ark with the relics of Saint Prince Vladimir and other shrines.” According to the UOC Chancellor, miraculous icons and shrines will lead the procession, and upon arrival at the Lavra they will be installed in the Refectory Church, where they will remain until the evening of July 28. Akathists and prayers will be constantly performed at the shrines, so believers will be able to come and pray both night and day.

As reported, the UOC detailed the celebration of the 1033rd anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’.
