Police have detained a person who kidnapped a newborn from the perinatal center in Kremenchuh. The individual turned out to be a transsexual. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine on July 16.

Surveillance cameras showed a woman leaving the facility with a large bundle. However, detectives identified the perpetrator as a transsexual man.

"The detainee explained his actions by saying that he desperately wanted a child, which he could never give birth to, so he resorted to the crime. The child is safe, and law enforcement returned the baby to the mother at the perinatal center," said Yevhen Rohachev, head of the Poltava Regional Police Department.

Law enforcement is conducting a pre-trial investigation of criminal cases opened under Part 3 of Article 146 and Part 2 of Article 367 (kidnapping of a minor and official negligence causing grave consequences) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

"The 25-year-old kidnapper now faces five to ten years behind bars for his actions," police reported.

As the UOJ previously reported, in Greece, which has adopted an LGBT law, there was a march for family values.
