The flags of the odious right-wing radical political parties at the OCU “service” dedicated to the anniversary of the Battle of Berestechko, led by Epiphany Dumenko in the village of Pliasheva, Rivne region, indicate that those who do not support this political ideology will be strangers at this event, said Metropolitan Clement (Vecheria) of Nizhyn and Priluki on the air of the “Pershyi Nezalezhnyi” TV channel.
He noted that any political symbols are inappropriate at religious events. “We see not just the flag of Ukraine – we see the flags and symbols of specific political parties with a very shaky reputation. Perhaps, there are sponsors of the OCU who belong to this political party, but this does not do credit to those who allow such agitation during the service,” said the UOC hierarch.
He noted that now there are frequent cases when politicians use the OCU for their "PR", and then pass openly anti-Christian laws. “Today we see when the same politicians who today “get their name” at religious events and try to be photographed with representatives of the OCU, then adopt anti-church and anti-Christian laws, and very often simply immoral,” resumed Metropolitan Clement.
As reported, political expert Mikhail Pogrebinsky said that he is not surprised at the fact that the OCU holds services under the flags of right-wing radicals.
