The prayer standing of the UOC believers on June 15 under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the subsequent religious procession to the Office of the President was organized by the NGO “Miriane” not to expose the power in a negative light but to urge it not to make the mistakes of its predecessors, said the head of the NGO “Miriane” Vasyl Makarovsky in the program "Intelligence" by Valeria Vedeneva on the “1Kozak” Youtube channel.
He believes that if the anti-church position gave Poroshenko some dividends, then Zelensky will no longer succeed. “We didn’t emphasize that the government is bad and doesn’t care about us. We came to say that they should not follow in the footsteps of the previous government, so that Zelensky does not repeat Poroshenko's mistakes,” Makarovsky said.
He noted that the NGO "Miriane" proposed to the current government bills that would annul those anti-constitutional laws, which were approved by their predecessors. Makarovsky expressed the hope that Zelensky was misinformed when he called the prayer standing of the UOC believers “old women and children in yellow caps” and that in the future he would personally monitor the most important events in the country. “Yellow caps, we hope that this is not a personal vision of the President but this is how information is conveyed to him. Either the information was unreliable reported to him, or it seemed to him. We hope for the adequacy of the President, that he will personally watch and monitor the events that are important,” resumed the head of “Miriane”.
