In Kyiv, UOC Primate officiates liturgy on Lavra's patronal feast day

On June 14, on the day of the commemoration of Venerable Agapitus of Pechersk, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry led the Divine Liturgy at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the monastery's website reports.

The Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was concelebrated by Metropolitans: Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Agapitus of Mohyliv-Podilskyi and Sharhorod; Bishops: Spyridon of Vyshneve, Lavr of Irpin, Mark of Borodianka, Arkadiy of Hostomel, as well as the brethren and guests of the monastery in holy orders.

After the reading of the Gospel, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry addressed the congregation with a primatial word, telling about the life of Venerable Agapitus and explaining the importance of not just physical but spiritual healing.

During the litany, special prayers were offered for the brethren of the monastery who were tonsured in honor of the saint being celebrated, as well as for the granting of peace to Ukraine.

At the end of the liturgy, glorification was sung, and a prayer to Venerable Agapitus of Pechersk was read.

As the UOJ reported, on the feast day of the Ascension of the Lord, June 13, 2024, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Ascension Church in the Demiivka district of Kyiv.
