“Miriane” are the voice of the people, and the authorities must listen to it. The vicar of the Rivne diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Bishop Pimen (Voyat) of Dubno, said this in a commentary to the UOJ.

The hierarch noted that believers who take a real and lively part in the life of the Church can always help Her, because "they are the members of the Church."

“'Miriane' is the voice of the people,” Vladyka Pimen said. “We’ve been waiting for a very long time; we've resorted to different tolerant ways – both the hierarchy and the priests. We addressed, requested that we be heard. We were not heard. Hence the voice of the people gets solidified this movement.”

According to the bishop, those who called themselves "Servants of the people" should hear their people and serve them actually.

“The government is obliged to listen to the people, because the Constitution stipulates that the main source of power is still the people, which, from our point of view, are the people of God,” he stressed.

Bishop Pimen added that believers from the Rivne diocese of the UOC will most likely join the action initiated by Miriane project at the walls of the Verkhovna Rada on June 15, since, he noted, this event was of great interest to many.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that a large-scale project "Miriane" (Laity – Trans.) has appeared in Ukraine, which calls on the believers of the UOC to stop being a silent and invisible majority and take an active position – for the faith, traditional values and the Church.

On June 15, "Miriane" calls to come to a prayer standing in front of the Verkhovna Rada, where they will publicly submit two new bills in support of the UOC believers’ rights. The standing begins at 9:00.
