Primate of American Church sees UOC Cathedral in Ternopil

On the evening of June 3, after a pilgrimage visit to Pochaiv and Kremenets, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon visited the cathedral in honor of the Holy Martyrs Vira, Nadia, Liubov, and their mother Sophia in Ternopil, as well as the Assumption Kulivtsi Monastery in Bukovyna. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopil and Kremenets, who accompanied the head of the Orthodox Church in America along with other hierarchs of the UOC, showed him the main cathedral of the eparchy and introduced him to the priests and believers. Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada also familiarized himself with the monastic life at the Kulivtsi Monastery of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy.

"During his visits, His Beatitude revered the holy relics, communicated with the hierarchs, clergy, monks, and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, prayed for peace in Ukraine, and invoked God's blessing upon our people," the statement said.

Today, June 4, marks the end of the Primate's visit of the Orthodox Church in America to Ukraine. On the last day of his pilgrimage, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon will visit monasteries of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy.

As reported by the UOJ, the Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada, expressed his support for the Primate and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and called on the civil authorities of Ukraine to respect freedom of religion in the country and the norms of international law.
