UOC hierarchs celebrate Divine Liturgy in Poland

On June 6, 2021, At the invitation of His Eminence Archbishop Abel of Lublin and Chełm of the Polish Church, His Eminence Metropolitan Nikodim of Zhytomyr and His Grace Bishop Pimen of Dubno took part in the celebrations in the city of Chełm (Poland), reports a UOJ correspondent.

His Eminence Archbishop Paisjusz of Przemyśl and Gorlice and His Grace Bishop Warsonofiusz of Siemiatycze of the Polish Church also concelebrated at the All-Night Vigil and the Divine Liturgy the following day.   

The Divine Liturgy for the Martyrs of Chełm and Podlasie was celebrated at the Church of St. John the Theologian in Chełm. Following the service, the hierarchs, clergy, and faithful made a solemn procession around the church. The feast ended with a welcoming speech from all the hierarchs present.

Bishop Pimen of Dubno addressed the believers of the Polish Church with a word: “We must believe without choosing the time, and do good deeds, not adjusting to the occasion, but constantly,” Vladyka noted. “Faith erases boundaries, faith helps to live, to see, opens spiritual eyes, which will not let you go astray.”  The bishop thanked the hierarchs of the Polish Church and wished to meet in Ukraine the next time.

As the UOJ reported, the hierarch of the Polish Orthodox Church congratulated the UOC on Easter.
