On May 28, 2024, a Greek edition published Metropolitan Theodosiy's speech in the Kyiv-Sviatoshyn court. The editorial team of the Romfea website transcribed and translated the bishop's speech into Greek in its entirety, calling it "remarkable".

"A hearing was held at the Kyiv-Sviatoshyn Regional Court regarding the criminal prosecution of Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy. It is worth noting that the Ukrainian hierarch, among other things, is being prosecuted by the authorities for quoting an excerpt from St. Luke of Crimea!" gawk the Greek Orthodox journalists.

In the text published on the romfea.gr website, the phrase "literal quote" in the speech of the UOC hierarch was highlighted several times, emphasizing their bewilderment. "Why am I telling you this? Because a criminal case against me was opened precisely for a LITERAL QUOTE from St. Luke's speech to his flock, to Orthodox believers, which I LITERALLY read to my flock in Cherkasy, to modern believers."

Metropolitan Theodosiy explained that St. Luke is revered not only in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church but throughout the Orthodox world. In particular, his canonization as a saint has been recognized in the Churches of Greece and other Churches of Greek origin.

As the UOJ reported, in his address before the start of the hearing, the bishop stated that he considers the next accusation against him – for quoting St. Luke Voyno-Yasenetsky – absurd.
