In the village of Rachin, Volyn region, the construction of a new church in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is underway to replace the one being illegally seized by the OCU in 2019, according to the press service of the Favor Charitable Foundation.

At present, the foundation of the temple under construction is being filled in; preparations are being made for the walls to be laid.

We will remind, on February 10-12, 2019 in the Gorokhiv area of the Volyn region, under the pretext of "transfer to OCU", representatives of the Kyiv patriarchate seized two churches of UOC – in the village of Rachin and Ozertsy. One abbot, Archpriest Mikhail Kurpil, serves in these parishes of the Volyn diocese. Despite the lively reports in the local media about the "transition of the village to the OCU", the UOC community is preserved in Rachin and worship services continue.

As previously reported by the UOJ, the Kyiv Patriarchate has seized another two churches in Volyn.
