Archbishop Petar Antun Rajič, the Vatican's Nuncio to Italy and San Marino, believes that religious freedom in the Western world is under threat.

"The West is undergoing systematic cultural changes that increasingly deny God and the traditions of the Church," the papal nuncio to Italy and San Marino said.

Petar Antun Rajič called on Christians to "rise up against lethargy and lukewarmness in order to preserve the Christian heritage."

Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to the hierarch of the Greek Church, Metropolitan Eusebios of Samos, today the Church and Orthodox faith are facing persecution.
