Former clergyman of the Russian Orthodox Church, Alexiy Uminsky, has joined the Patriarchate of Constantinople, reports Orthodox theologian and professor Alexander Dvorkin.
"Today, former Archpriest Alexiy Uminsky, my former spiritual father and longtime friend, was received into the clergy of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. This is a point of no return for me. There is no longer an Archpriest Alexiy Uminsky for me," he wrote.
Information has emerged among Orthodox social media that Uminsky will serve in one of the parishes of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Europe.
As reported by the UOJ, earlier, Patriarch Kirill signed a court decision to defrock the priest for refusing to read the prayer for Holy Russia after the Divine Liturgy.
