On 19 February 2024, a meeting of the Northern Economic Court of Appeal was held on the case of illegal termination of the contract of the state with the monastery of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on the use of premises of the Lower Lavra.

According to the results of the court hearing, the judges decided to postpone consideration of the case to 4 April. The Lavra's lawyer Archpriest Nikita Chekman informed the believers about it after the meeting. The video of the lawyer's statement was posted on the Telegram channel "Myriany" (“Laity”).

The lawyer reminded that laymen have the right to seek legal assistance because of their non-admission by the authorities to the territory of the Lower Lavra and urged everyone to contact the Legal Protection Centre to draw up complaints.

"Lawyers will help in drafting appeals. We all have the right to appeal against the illegal actions of the Reserve, let's move together," the lawyer urged the believers.

As reported, court hearings on the eviction of the brethren from the Lavra were postponed for a month.
