Canadian writer: The Pope should save souls, not the planet

Renowned Canadian writer, speaker, and psychologist Jordan Peterson has urged the Pope to be focused on saving souls rather than saving the planet.

Peterson believes that the Catholic Church has lost sight of the true "great adventure of life" and Christ's words "pick up your cross and follow me".

He explained that the efforts of the Catholic Church to make the gospel message more "relevant", more "welcoming" to modern people have overshadowed the true calling of the Gospel.

According to Jordan Peterson, just as "Christ faced and triumphed over death and hell," so too should every individual achieve victory over death and hell in their own lives.

He agreed that the Catholic Church is not challenging the people to take the difficult path.

He reminded that the Pope often speaks about saving the planet from the climate crisis and reminded the pontiff that only "by saving souls - you save the planet, not by worshiping Guaia (the earth goddess Pachamama – Ed.)."

"I don't see, for the life of me, what the Catholic Church has to do with climate crisis. Just the formulation is wrong, the priority is wrong. You save the world (by saving – Ed.) one person at a time," Peterson continued and added that the Pope "lacks faith in his own mission."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that "catechism" of the pagan deity Pachamama was conducted in the Vatican.
