The Main Directorate of the National Police in the Cherkasy Region has closed the case of an attack by members of the UOC St. Sretensky community of Cherkasy on a journalist of the regional media outlet 18000, Maksym Tkachenko, reports 18000.com.ua.  The cameraman filed a complaint with the police that the UOC believers obstructed his activities while he was filming a vote for the community’s "transition" to the OCU.

The police said that this proceeding was closed on 16 November 2023 based on Paragraph 2 Part 1 of Article 284 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine (absence of criminal offence in the act).

As reported, earlier (29 June 2023), the initiators of the seizure gathered city council deputies, budgetary workers and other people who have nothing to do with the temple at the stadium, held the so-called "parish" meeting, registered the minutes and changed the data on the legal entity in the state register.
