On March 23, 2021, “Metropolitan" Anthony Makhota of Khmelnytsky Kamyanets-Podilsky of the OCU reposed, reports the OCU spokesperson Eustratiy Zoria on his Facebook page.
“Sad news came from Khmelnytsky. At the age of 55, “Metropolitan" Anthony Makhota of Khmelnytsky Kamyanets-Podilsky reposed,” Zoria wrote.
He added later that Makhota died "from complications from the coronavirus disease".
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that “Metropolitan" Anthony Makhota of Khmelnytsky Kamyanets-Podilsky of the OCU sang the song "Dedication to Artists" on the stage of the Kyiv beer club "Docker Pub".
