The family of 63-year-old Vasyl Khashchiyuk, a parishioner of St. Michael's Church of the UOC in Zadubrivka, Chernivtsi region, who was beaten hard, knows the names of all those involved in the attack but believes that the blame will be shifted on one person, reports the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy press service on its Facebook page.

It is noted that usually supporters of the OCU attack churches and beat believers in numbers, but when an investigation is launched, they hide and deny their participation. “So now, they beat 63-year-old Vasyl Grygorievych in a crowd, and the responsibility will be placed on one. The victim's family told us about this,” reports the eparchy.

It is noted that in Zadoburivka everyone knows the names and surnames of the "heroes" who attacked the elderly man and beat him with their hands and feet all at once. “Today we will not publish their names so as not to interfere with the work of the investigation. But, if these heroes are not brought to justice, which, unfortunately, happens almost always, when it comes to attacking Orthodox churches, then we will give the floor to the family of Vasyl Khashchiyuk. They themselves will say who these attackers are,” says the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy.

It is also noted that none of the attackers or their parents have yet even tried to ask for forgiveness from Vasyl Khashchiyuk and his family.

As reported earlier, on the night of March 13 in the village of Zadubrivka, six supporters of the OCU severely beat the 63-year-old parishioner of St. Michael's Church of the UOC Vasyl Khashchiyuk. As the parish rector said, Vasyl is one of the quietest and most harmless people in the village, and the attack on him looks especially cynical.

As reported, the Legal Department of the UOC commented on the beating of a 63-year-old believer in Zadubrivka.
