“Bishop” of the OCU of Mukachevo and Carpathia Viktor Bed’ believes that Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church is not an expert on the canons of the Church, and therefore his position on the OCU should not be taken into account. Bed’ wrote about this on his Facebook page.

According to Bed’, the words of the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije that the actions of Phanar in Ukraine are not consistent with church canons, “this is the opinion of only one person out of seven and a half billion other people on the globe, and nothing more ...”

The "hierarch" of the OCU is sure that "a certain time will pass, perhaps a very short time, and Porfirije will speak on the same issue in a different way ... Because he is not the first, and he is not the last." Bed’ believes that the fate of the OCU, as well as "the creation in the future of a new church structure and the development of world religions", does not depend on either Patriarch Porfirije, or Patriarch Kirill, or Pope Francis.

According to Bed’, Patriarch Porfirije cannot be "an exceptional connoisseur or interpreter of church canon law, including on the autocephaly of the OCU," although "he tries to pass himself off as an ancient elder or a world oracle."

At the same time, the “hierarch” of the OCU expressed confidence that Ukrainians “should be least of all interested in the opinion of foreigners and especially our enemies” and stated that Ukrainians should be united nationally, spiritually and in harmony with God. And "then everything will be fine with us, and the foreigners will recognize us, and our enemies will perish."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia, the Serbian Orthodox Church is always on the side of order and canons, and the actions of the Patriarchate of Constantinople in Ukraine "are not consistent with the tradition of the Church.”
