Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, commented on the statement of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, during a telethon. Türk said that the bill to ban the UOC threatens freedom of religion in Ukraine.

Lubinets noted that Ukraine does not deserve to be criticized by "even one of the most authoritative human rights defenders in the world", Türk, for the bill. According to him, the UN Commissioner lied when he said that the "bill provides for the prohibition of one of the denominations".

At the same time, Lubinets believes that "there is no violation of the rights of UOC believers in Ukraine today." He also advised international institutions established to protect human rights globally and in Ukraine to "work more effectively".

As a reminder, the UN condemned pressure on the UOC.

As reported, raiders are storming the Kazan Сhurch of the UOC in Ladyzhyn.
