Filaret congratulates Biden and asks to defend UOC-KP

Filaret Denisenko congratulated Biden on his inauguration and hopes that under his presidency, the Kyiv Patriarchate will restore legal registration in state bodies of Ukraine.

The head of the UOC-KP ordered to pray for Biden's success, says a congratulatory note to the new US President, published on the Facebook page of Filaret's structure.

Denisenko recalled the meetings in Washington with the former US Vice-President "with extraordinary warmth". Filaret believes that "Ukrainians really appreciate the help that the United States provides to our country in upholding national sovereignty and territorial integrity".

“I hope that during your cadence the strategic cooperation between our states will continue and the rights of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate to freedom of conscience will be protected,” he said.

As reported, supporters of the UOC-KP pressured the Prosecutor General's Office for strong actions against Poroshenko and Dumenko.
