On November 25, 2023, Patriarch Bartholomew again discussed the restoration of the "visible unity" of the Body of Christ between the Orthodox and Catholics, according to fosfanariou.gr.

During his visit to Italy, Patriarch Bartholomew spoke to Catholics about the concept of conciliarity in the Church, noting that in the ancient liturgical tradition, "the Liturgy is impossible without the people, just as it is without the priest."

Expressing admiration for the conference on unity in the liturgy organized by the RCC, the head of the Phanar noted that such events "can attract the attention of the entire Church to the power of the grace of unity, manifested in the Liturgy, the Mystery of the Trinity and Conciliarity, as well as in the path taken by our Churches to restore the visible unity of the Body of Christ in the light of the history that the Churches and peoples of the Mediterranean have experienced together over the centuries."

Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Patriarch Bartholomew, we are on an irreversible path to unity with Catholics.
