On 23 November 2023, the head of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk spoke about the Holodomor of 1932-1933 at the Refectory Church of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, reports Stefanchuk on his Facebook page.

Among the guests present at the event were the third President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko, rector of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Volodymyr Bugrov and OCU "clergymen".

After the Rada Speaker's lecture, an OCU "hierarch" led a "common prayer" for the conference participants.

"The Holodomor of 1932-1933 was a conscious act of genocide carried out by the fierce Stalinist regime against the Ukrainian people. It was a crime whose victims were millions of Ukrainians just because they were Ukrainians. And the Holodomor is not just a tragedy for Ukraine. It is also a warning of what will happen if we lose our freedom," Stefanchuk wrote.

As reported, a girl in a Ukrainian costume danced in the Refectory Church of Lavra.
