Political expert Jim Jatras, a former US State Department official, said in Arkady Mamontov's film "Self-ordained", dedicated to the church schism in Ukraine, that using the ambitions of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, the U.S. State Department, led by the American ruling apparatus, wants to "break the back of the entire Orthodox Church".
“Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople wants to raise his status in our Church, to become a kind of pontiff of the East, but there are other factors, the most important of which are the Church of Constantinople and the geopolitical interests of the U.S. State Department, as well as the spread of the ideas of cultural Marxism to the entire ruling apparatus of America, which is set to break the backbone of the Orthodox Church,” said the American political analyst.
According to Jatras, all the united efforts of the American state are directed against the Orthodox Church.
“It is worth mentioning Kurt Volker, Special Representative of the U.S. State Department in Ukraine, who until his resignation not only worked tirelessly for his government, but also headed the McCain Institute, funded by his lobbying firm BGR Group (Barbour, Griffith & Rogers), whose client was Poroshenko and also the Raytheon company, the creators of the Javelin missile system, which was supposed to be delivered to Ukraine. We have an integrated ideological structure that is pinned on the narrative against Christian morality; all business, money, special services, etc. is pooled together to fight the Orthodox Church,” Jatras said.
As the UOJ previously reported, the head of Phanar accused the ROC of "flirting with the federalism of Orthodoxy."
