According to the recent remark of Epiphany Dumenko, Judas Iscariot hanged himself for corruption.

"Corruption is not a new problem of society, this phenomenon has been familiar since biblical times, which is mentioned in the Holy Scriptures, in the works of the holy fathers, ascetics," the head of the OCU wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. “Both the Old and the New Testaments clearly condemn the manifestations of corruption, warn against them, make it clear that corruption is killing. Numerous examples of destructive actions of Roman officials, Pharisees, high priests ... Judas Iscariot, who could not live with what he did and hanged himself, show us that corruption not only kills those who commit it, but harms everyone around."

He added that corruption "is expensive <...> not only in material terms, but above all – in moral, spiritual", yet there is, speaking in modern terms, a "vaccine" also from "this dangerous virus”.

According to Dumenko, this vaccine is the truth and righteousness spoken of by the Apostle Paul.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that, according to the head of the OCU, the quote from the Gospel of John "The Spirit breathes where He wills" is a saying.
