Patriarch Theophilos: Jerusalem is the Mother of all Churches

On 30 September 2023, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem said that Jerusalem is the Mother of all Churches, reports Orthodoxia.info.

During his meeting with Pope Francis, Patriarch Theophilos stressed the importance of Christian unity, saying that "the Jerusalem Orthodox Patriarchate as the Mother of all Churches emphasises Christian unity and is deeply concerned about the state of all Churches around the world."

On 26 February 2020, the Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches met in the Jordanian capital Amman, convened by Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem.

Afterwards, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople sent a letter to Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, in which he emotionally expressed his displeasure with the Amman meeting of the Primates.
