On ICTV live, the head of the OCU, Serhiy Dumenko, likened the UOC to French Islamist terrorists and called on the authorities to pass a bill to ban it. The interview was posted on its YouTube channel by the press service of the OCU.

He stated that the legal ban on the UOC would not allegedly be a ban on denomination, since, according to him, “there is complete freedom of religion in Ukraine.” According to Dumenko, the ban will concern “direct affiliation and influence on those who are more willing to be deceived. That is, those who do not deny this affiliation and want to continue to be part of the Moscow Patriarchate.”

Dumenko recalled the bill of the Cabinet of Ministers and expressed the hope that it would be brought to the hall and voted.

“I mean we need to sever this connection. A similar thing took place in France after the terrorist attacks, when Islamic organizations were forbidden to maintain contact with Islamic countries,” said the head of the OCU.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Dumenko awarded all those involved in the seizure of the UOC Cathedral in Bila Tserkva.
