UOC Primate: Metropolitan Amfilohije showed unshakable faithfulness to God

The Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, expressed condolences to His Holiness Irinej, Archbishop of Pécs, Metropolitan of Belgrade and Karlovci, Patriarch of Serbia in connection with the death of Metropolitan Amfilohije (Radović) of Montenegro and the Littoral of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

“With great sadness, we have received the news of the end of the earthly life of His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral – the great archpastor and hierarch of your Most Holy Church,” the UOC Information and Educational Department cites the letter of His Beatitude Onuphry. “Vladyka Amfilohije had a long life path, but in all circumstances he showed unshakable faithfulness to God and always acted according to God's law.”

The Primate of the UOC noted that during a recent visit to Montenegro, he saw "the unity of the believing people with their archpastor, the steadfastness of the archbishop in matters of upholding the purity of faith and protection of the Church, the fervent prayer of Metropolitan Amfilohije for his flock."

“Your Holiness! Please accept our fraternal condolences in connection with the loss that befell your Holy Church. We respectfully convey our condolences to the clergy and flock of the Montenegrin-Littoral Metropolis. We pray for our brother so that the Lord will grant his soul rest where the righteous repose. Eternal memory to dear Vladyka Amfilohije!" wrote the Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

As reported, on October 30, 2020, Metropolitan Amfilohije (Radović) of Montenegro and the Littoral of the Serbian Orthodox Church passed away.
