The Economic Court of Kyiv recognized as legal the breaking of the Agreement by the Ministry of Culture with the Monastery of the UOC "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra", the website of the Ministry of Culture reports.
“Thus, the Economic Court of Kyiv refused to satisfy the claims of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (Male Monastery) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This religious organization wanted to continue to use religious buildings and other state-owned property,” the text says.
The Ministry of Culture stated that they allegedly "revealed a number of violations of the agreement concluded between the UOC and the reserve during the inspection, which became the basis for its rupture."
The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine "thanks the court for an objective consideration of the case and the decision made in the interests of the Ukrainian people."
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to the former head of the Ministry of Culture Tkachenko, Lavra is a great place for the Pantheon of Heroes.
