The meeting of the President of Ukraine with Patriarch Bartholomew at Phanar may negatively affect the rating of Vladimir Zelensky and his political force. This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, on his Telegram channel.

The UOC spokesman believes that “the very fact of a meeting between President Vladimir Zelensky and Patriarch Bartholomew in Istanbul today, regardless of its results, may negatively affect the personal rating of the President and his 'Servant of the People' party.”

He noted that "the believers of the UOC, who in their overwhelming majority voted for V. Zelensky in 2019, were very wary of this meeting." This may further discourage people from supporting the "Servants" in the next elections, he says.

“People fear Poroshenko’s politics and ideology will return,” Archpriest Nikolai concluded.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Vladimir Zelensky visited Phanar.
