Italy declares its readiness to join restoration of cathedral in Odesa

The Italian authorities declare their readiness to participate in the restoration of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa.

The corresponding statement appeared on the website of the Council of Ministers of Italy on July 23.

The press service noted, "We are deeply hurt by the attacks in Odesa, the deaths of innocent people, the destruction of the Transfiguration Cathedral."

"With its unique expertise in restoration, Italy is ready to get involved with the reconstruction of Odesa’s cathedral and other treasures of Ukraine’s artistic heritage," the press service added.

As previously reported, a prayer service was held near the ruined cathedral in Odesa in front of a miraculous icon.
