The police of Bila Tserkva stated on Facebook that they “documented” a UOC priest who defended the Transfiguration Cathedral from the invaders, who had knocked out the doors of the temple with sledgehammers. He is charged with Art. 173, which provides for corrective labor, administrative arrest, or a fine.
The press service of the police wrote that “the conflict situation turned into a big mess and verbal skirmishes. In addition, the cleric of the UOC closed himself inside and used a fire extinguisher to prevent anyone from entering the premises.”
However, the police did not say a word about the raiders, who cut the doors of the cathedral with grinders and smashed them with a sledgehammer for 3 hours.
The press service said that during the seizure of the cathedral, "employees of the Bila Tserkva police department, patrol police and a special police regiment in the Kyiv region were involved."
“Once again we urge you to solve problem situations within the legal framework, otherwise you will have to answer for your actions in accordance with the current legislation,” the police threatened.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Zoria reported the seizure of the UOC Cathedral in Bila Tserkva.
