Shmyhal orders to inspect UOC cathedral and two monasteries in Volyn region

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has instructed ministries to check the lease agreements with the UOC cathedral and two monasteries of the UOC in Volyn, the “Volyn News” agency quoted MP Ihor Huz as saying.

According to the MP, in addition to checking the lease agreements, the authorities plan to form a commission "to inspect these places of worship”.

The Minister of Culture of Ukraine, the Minister of Justice, the Minister of Community Development, the Head of the State Property Fund, and the Chairman of the Volyn RMA have been instructed to organize the commission.

"I expect answers to check the lease/use agreements and formation of a commission for inspection of these places of worship for further transfer of movable and immovable state property to the balance and protection of the relevant state bodies," Huz said.

As reported, the OCU has set up clones of UOC monasteries in Volyn.
