On June 23, 2023, the deputies of the Odesa Regional Council decided not to consider the draft resolution on banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the region during the session, reports intent.press.

Deputy Head of the Regional Council, Oleksandr Urbansky, in particular, noted that "considering this question is untimely" and that "the most bloody wars in human history were religious wars".

Only eight deputies voted to include the question of banning the UOC in the agenda, all from the "European Solidarity" faction.

As reported, on June 20, 2023, the Nizhun City Council failed to make a decision on banning the activities of Ukrainian Orthodox Church communities and depriving them of the right to use land plots.
