The Primate takes part in the opening of the Verkhovna Rada’s session

On September 1, 2020, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine took part in the opening of the fourth session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation, the Information and Educational Department of the UOC reports.

The Primate of the UOC visited the Verkhovna Rada at the invitation of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada as part of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations. Metropolitan Onuphry was accompanied by his vicar, Bishop Mark of Borodianka.

His Beatitude Metropolitan got familiar with the schedule of work of the Verkhovna Rada on the creation of laws.

The heads of religious organizations agreed to cooperate in the preparation of bills that concern the life of believers.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the website of the official newspaper of the Verkhovna Rada “Golos Ukrainy” ("Voice of Ukraine" – Trans.) stated that the Pochaiv Lavra is an outpost of the "Russian world".
