BOC head congratulates Lukashenko on his election as President of Belarus

On August 10, 2020, the Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, Metropolitan Pavel of Minsk and Zaslawye, greeted Alexander Lukashenko on his election to the post of President of the Republic of Belarus. The congratulations were published on the BOC website.

“Compatriots place great hopes on you related to the protection of the sovereignty of Belarus, the preservation of the national spiritual and cultural heritage, the strengthening of social and economic stability.

We believe that the further work of the state system of the Republic of Belarus will be carried out with the participation of all healthy forces of society, on the basis of eternal spiritual and moral values formed in the bosom of the Christian tradition,” writes the Primate of the BOC.

Metropolitan Pavel emphasized that the episcopate, clergy, monastics and all believers of the Belarusian Orthodox Church offer fervent prayers these days for granting peace, civil unity and harmony, well-being and prosperity of the country.

As the UOJ reported, on the eve of the elections, the BOC Primate called on citizens to mutual respect.
