The Podil District Court of Kyiv opened proceedings on the claim of the lawyer of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, against Channel 5 on the protection of honor, dignity, business reputation and refutation of false information. The priest announced this on his Telegram channel.

The court session in this case will take place on June 5, 2023 at 10:00.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Fr. Nikita went to court due to the fact that in the plot of Channel 5 he was called a lawyer of the UOC-MP and "a representative of Moscow priests, ex-owners of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra." The priest asked the court to oblige the TV channel to make a public apology on the air of the Chas Novyn program.
