19.7% of Americans aged 19-26 identify themselves as members of the LGBT community. This is evidenced by a Gallup poll, according to NBC News. This is the highest rate among all age groups. In the population from 27 to 42 years old, it is 11.2%, from 43 to 58 years old – 3.3%, from 59 to 77 years old – 2.7%, over 78 years old – 1.7%.

Nationwide, 7.2% of Americans identified themselves as LGBTQ. This is twice as much as a decade ago. In 2012, only 3.5% of the US population identified themselves as gay.

The survey organizers note that the proportion of LGBTQпо members in the United States is expected to continue to grow. Moreover, "young people who enter adulthood in the future will be far more likely to identify as LGBT than their parents, grandparents, and great grandparents."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to the NBC News channel, the UOC is being persecuted due to its homophobic priests and believers.
