Kyiv Council deputy and chairwoman of the Kyiv Council's Standing Committee on Culture, Tourism and Public Communications Victoria Mukha told glavcom.ua in an interview that not a single UOC community has transferred to the OCU since 2019.
"In Kyiv, most churches belong to the UOC MP. I will say for sure that the official statistics of the transitions are, to put it mildly, disappointing. It seems to me that in a small town or village, it is easier to do because it is easier for parishioners there to unite and defend their position. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, none of the 273 parishes of the 'Moscow Church in Kyiv' has moved to the religious side of Ukraine," Mukha noted.
"For now, we are waiting for a law to be passed that will settle many issues on the UOC (MP). The Kyiv council voted for a decision to conduct an inventory of land plots occupied by the UOC (MP) and communal property leased or given for permanent use. This inventory should be carried out by the Land Resources Department and the Department of Communal Property," the Kyiv councilwoman added.
As reported, none of the 623 UOC communities in Transcarpathia has transferred to the OCU.
